Plan Your Legacy While It's Still Your Decision
Estate and succession planning with an independent planner in Vernon, BC. No products pushed, no judgment, no rush.
Most people don't put off estate planning because they don't care. They put it off because it means starting conversations nobody wants to start — about money, about fairness, about what happens when you're not here.
That's the part I help with.
We work through your estate the way we work through everything: one step at a time, in plain language, at a pace that lets you actually think about it. You'll finish knowing what you own, where it goes, what it will cost, and what to say to the people who need to hear it from you rather than from a lawyer's office.
Together we will
-
Work through your FFC&P Estate Workbook to build a full inventory of what you own
-
Name your legacy wishes — the financial ones, and the ones that have nothing to do with money
-
Look at how to equalize inheritances between beneficiaries, and what the tax bill looks like either way
-
Decide whether an accountant or an estate lawyer needs to join the conversation
-
With your approval, facilitate the conversations with executors, spouses, partners, and adult children
-
Review insurance or low-cost investment options only where they genuinely solve something
Why people bring this to me
You'll be working with a Financial Planner, Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC®), licensed Insurance Agent, and Myers-Briggs Coach — which matters here more than it does anywhere else, because estate planning is half numbers and half family.
And because I'm independent, nothing in this conversation carries a sales quota. If insurance solves a real problem, I'll say so and compare it across a dozen providers. If it doesn't, I'll say that instead.
The hard part usually isn't the paperwork
It's telling your family what you decided, and why. The behavioural work I do means we can plan that conversation for the actual people who'll be in the room — including the one who takes news badly, and the one who'll go quiet and bring it up two years later.

What it Costs
Introduction session: $150 plus GST.
After that, sessions are scheduled as needed and quoted before we begin. Estate work varies too much between families to price honestly by the hour, and I'd rather tell you the number up front than surprise you with it.
